The individual
human mind is filled with limitless capacity that untethered can lead to the
betterment of society. In the spirit of the ancient proverb Give a man a fish and he will eat for
a day, teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime provides the basis
for the Wellness, Redemption, & Rehabilitation Program (WRRP) to engender an environment of clients towards self-actualization,
self-development, and self-sufficiency.
WRRP is a charitable organization (a 501c3) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our mission is to assist dislocated workers, the disabled, former-offenders, and
homeless military veterans to become self-sufficient.
We maintain that program graduates can succeed and “give back” in becoming
future business owners, teachers and community leaders. That is our seed and
founding belief essential to our duty and organizational culture.
WRRP
services include:
Mentorship
Psychoeducational therapies
Social need referrals
Job readiness training
Job placement
Job coaching
Retention assistance
Our founding
belief and broad client population we serve maintains to be our niche, which is
one of several things that marks WRRP extraordinary to many other
organizations.
Become a Mentor
The most important way you can volunteer is to become a life
coach to a disadvantaged person (military veteran or otherwise).
Most of WRRP’s mentors are peers who have experienced
transformation and share their advice, compassion, and
understanding through non-judgmental and forgiving eyes. For
more information about becoming a WRRP mentor
contact us.
Employ a WRRP participant
“For veterans who have been incarcerated . . . a good job goes a
long way to aid in rehabilitation,” said Secretary of Labor
Hilda L. Solis. Generally, a lack of employment has been found
to be one of the leading causes of recidivism.
Being a WRRP employer means
that you are open to giving a qualified person who wants a chance the
chance they need to succeed. Our clients are bondable, ready to work, know
how to say “Okay,” and will not no show. In other words, they
will make their employers a profit. Also, hiring our
clients at a full or part-time basis provides you an opportunity to receive
a maximum $2,400 tax credit per client hire for up to two years. For more information about hiring a WRRP participant contact us at (702) 385-9097 or via email at
info@wrrp.org.
